Advocacy

Knowing What to Ask for and How to Ask Can Make a Difference

Students with disabilities face many barriers on the path from high school to college. For some, advocacy will play a critical role in ensuring they finish high school having met the requirements necessary to apply for college. Advocacy can also be vital in making sure they have the skills and knowledge-base to succeed at the post-secondary level.

Our special education advocates know what students’ rights are and what they are entitled to. Our advocates can help students and their parents request and receive services from their district, including evaluations and accommodations. They can also help students and schools work together to create an outcome-oriented transition plan.
